How To Communicate With Your Guides

You have probably heard people speak about receiving a message from their Spirit Guides and wonder what in the hell are they talking about?! What do you mean "spirit sent you a message"? It sounds insane. A Spirit Guide is a discarnate spirit that acts as a protector to living humans. I know it sounds a bit far fetched, but follow me here.. I know what I am talking about. Spirit Guides are entities that have fulfilled their lives purpose and have been chosen to not reincarnate back to human form. By doing so, they will then be assigned to people here on Earth, that they can best serve from the other side.

Typically, we will have multiple guides throughout our life. Once one has completed their mission with us, they will leave and a new one will come in on the next chapter. Other times, people may have many guides at once with them during their whole life experience. You may have a guide come in when you are going through a rough patch, like a death or divorce and will tag in a new guide once you have grown from that moment. Thus, to help you on the next chapter. Regardless of how many, you have them, always.

Your Spirit Guides are a perfect match for you. If you are someone that procrastinates, you may get a guide that was a procrastinator when they were living. They will be able to teach you what happens when you put things off that you know you shouldn't. Or they can show you how to break this habit, because they have once been in your position. The real misconception is that when our loved ones pass, they are the ones promoted to being our guides and truthfully, it is possible but that's not always the case.

I know that there would be no better feeling than to have Mamaw lighting your path now that she is gone. But not all spirits pass on to look out for us. It may seem shitty to think about, but would you really want your Mamaw stressed out because you're STILL not listening to her advice, even after she is gone? She wants to be at peace. Not arguing with you about the choices you are making. She did enough of that already. So, someone else is going to come in to teach you along your journey. It is most likely that you do not know this person at all. But you may be one of the lucky ones that does get a family member somewhere along the lines. It has happened to me with my Mom!

Most everyone has a Spirit Guide, but you really have to know how to tap into them in order to utilize their direction properly. Have you ever had a cheating partner and began to check to see if you can catch them up? But there is a little voice that comes in and says "bitch, you know, so why are you going to go hurt yourself even more"? Yep, that voice!! Heard that one a million times and still didn't listen, like a lot of you. Those "voices" are your guides coming to you. Whenever those voices happen, just sit and listen for a minute. Start asking questions. You can even do some automatic writing when you hear them. Automatic writing is where you just write down whatever it is that you hear, without second guessing where it is coming from. Then you can read it once your guide is finished to see what message has been laid out for you.

A lot of us have this internal monologue in our head, which is similar to how guides come in as well. But, if you are one of those that has a hard time "hearing" these voices, perhaps meditation would be better for you. There are many self guided meditation videos out there if you need a visual. It is really simple if you are able to clear the clutter in your mind and shut off the outside world. Easier said than done, right?

To start a meditation to connect with your Spirit Guides, you will need to be in a peaceful environment. Now sit in whatever comfortable position works best for you. My fat ass prefers to sit in a comfy chair so it is easier for me to get up, verses sitting crisscross applesauce on a thin ass yoga mat that still hurts to get up from. Once you are comfortable, you will need to ground yourself. To achieve this, you can envision your feet planted firmly on the ground. Imagining a golden light coming from the top of your head through your entire body to the bottom of your feet, going into the ground. Say something along the lines of "I am grounded, protected and present in this moment". Next you will set your intention of connecting to you guide. Now you can clear your mind and start asking your guides to come through. Ask if they can show themselves, what messages do you need to hear and if it is okay to give them a name. Most guides do not have a name, so this will help you to keep track of all of them. Once you end your connection with them, thank them for their guidance.

Sometimes, it takes a couple of tries to pull them through. Especially, if you aren't someone that is open to the other side. Keep practicing and you will eventually be able to connect with them without even realizing. You are still able to speak with them anytime you need, regardless if they show themselves to you or not. It would be just like talking to yourself either out loud or in your head. The way their messages come through might not be as clear as you had hoped, but I assure you, they will deliver.

Spirit Guides communicate with us in such crazy ways at times. You may receive your messages through: a random song, vivid dreams that make no sense, seeing synchronistic numbers or ringing in your ears. If you already experience any of these, that means your guides have been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty! Seriously though, they are trying to get your attention.

The ways you can decode your messages are pretty simple, if you want to take the time to look them up. If you are one that has crazy ass dreams, write down what you remember as soon as you wake up. Anything that sticks out to you, you will want to investigate. If you have a dream about your car being on fire, go to Google and ask that bitch "meaning of car fire dream". If you are constantly seeing numbers, these are called Angel Numbers. Whatever the number is, go look it up. Notice the time when your ear begins to ring. That time is now your Angel Number. If it is 11:52, then 1152 is the number they want you to inquire about. I know all of this sounds so crazy, but you will be more freaked out (in a good way) once you start utilizing these techniques.

Do not get discouraged if you are not able to connect right away with them, they may be testing you to see how badly you want it. Please remember that our Spirit Guides are not here to hurt, but to help us. It is up to you to take their advice when they come through with their guidance. If you go against the grain, you will still learn valuable lessons but will prolong your advancement. It is all about elevation and growth here.
